At some point in our lives, many of us have been told, “It’s not you. It’s me.” This is the famous breakup line people use to slide out of a relationship with the hopes of not hurting the other person.
Well, I’m here to tell you that it is you. You are the person responsible for your life being all you want it to be or for it being exactly the opposite of what you want it to be. You have created your current reality with your thoughts. Your thoughts are waves of energy that are constantly shaping and reshaping your life.
What you focus on, you will attract. Whether or not you’re consciously aware of it, you live in a field of energy that’s shaped by your thoughts. Your thoughts are consistently expressing themselves in your life. The great thing is you can use your thoughts as creative forces to begin designing your life with clarity and purpose. You must focus consistently on what you want in your life, instead of what you do not want.
You can direct your thoughts through visualization. Visualization is simply a mental rehearsal. You create pictures in your mind of what you want to see in your life. The reason visualization works is because the subconscious mind cannot distinguish between what is real and what is imagined. Your subconscious will act upon the pictures you create, regardless of whether those pictures reflect your current reality or not.
Take some time to look at what’s going on in your life. Now, take a moment to think back on your recent thoughts and begin to match those thoughts with your current circumstances. You will see a pattern developing in your life that coincides with your previous thoughts. If you want to change your life, change your thoughts. You will be amazed at the results.
Visualization is absolutely one of the keys to my success. I visualize what I want in my marriage, family, and business. I visualize every speech, teleseminar, or meeting that I do. Even before I write, I visualize a page filled with creative words that will inspire, encourage, and motivate others to action. Before I see something in reality, I first see it in my mind. By visualizing, I’m preparing my body to act as if it has already been in a situation. When I hit the stage or arrive at a meeting, I’m comfortable because, in my mind, I’ve already been there before.
Start visualizing the success that you want today. Make a promise to yourself. From this day forward, all of your thoughts will be of the positive things that you want to materialize in your life. Create the images in your mind of where you want to go and watch where it takes you.
