The third reason for mediating is that it helps you cope with fear. It has been said that FEAR is the acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Often, people will allow creations of their mind, negative thoughts of those things that have not happened but that they fear happening, to invade their minds and hijack their minds from the present moment. This often times will lead to mistakes.
Meditation has been shown to help calm the fear at the center of the brain known as the amygdala even when you are not practicing meditation. This information alone is worth millions of dollars.
