This is Part 5 of a 10 part series on the benefits of meditation for leaders.
The fifth reason for mediating is that it reduces your mind from ruminating (pondering negative thoughts). Rumination is the compulsively focused attention on the symptoms of one’s distress, and on its possible causes and consequences, as opposed to its solutions. Many people will consistently replay a situation that has previously occurred in their lives, particularly if it’s a negative on. Sometimes it can become hard for an people to bounce back because of the obsessive thoughts running through their mind. Meditation has been shown to reduce rumination. Mediation will hit the mental reset button so that your mind can focus on the present.
